From a single spreadsheet to a platform
It started with a phone call. Kwesi, then a headmaster in Accra, called his friend Ama at 11pm — not to catch up, but to vent. He had spent the entire evening reconciling fee payments across three Excel files. Two entries didn't match. He had no idea why.
Ama, fresh off building payment infrastructure at one of Africa's largest fintech companies, immediately saw the gap. The software that existed was either too expensive, too generic, or built for a different context entirely. African schools needed something purpose-built.
They started building nights and weekends. Nii joined to make the product feel as premium as the problem demanded. Efua — who had lived the pain as a school bursar — joined to make sure they never shipped anything that wouldn't actually work in a real school office.
Today FeePilot serves 500+ schools. Kwesi still gets calls from headmasters — but now they're calling to thank him.
